COVID-19 Ridership Impact

This graph shows the weekly boarding rides taken on buses, MAX Light Rail and WES Commuter Rail, including transfers. If a rider takes two buses to get to work, it counts as two boarding rides.

Estimated Boardings

Ridership estimates are preliminary and based on samples and extrapolation.

*Note: The sharp increase in trips starting the week of August 2 is likely the result of extra boardings caused by the Steel Bridge four-week closure and transfers between MAX trains and shuttle buses.
