High School Access Transit ProgramFree Summer Pass
This program provides free transit passes to anyone age 14–18 during the summer months.
How it Works
We’re taking advantage of a funding opportunity to give free transit passes to students who rely on transit during the summer months. The passes are valid for unlimited rides on buses, MAX, WES and Portland Streetcar. Students can pick up a pass from their high school main office beginning in late May. Passes are valid from June 1 through August 31, 2024.
Portland Public Schools student ID Hop pass will not work beyond the end of the school year.
Where to get your summer pass
Students, visit your school’s main office to get a pass. You’ll get a paper Hop ticket that’s good for unlimited rides on buses, MAX, WES and Portland Streetcar.
You can also pick up your passes from one of our partners
Or, pick up a pass at the TriMet Customer Support Center, 701 SW 6th Ave., Portland from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays and the TriMet Operations Center, 4012 SE 17th Ave, Portland, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., weekdays.
Plan your trip to pick up your pass
After the school year ends, we can send you a pass by mail. To request having a pass mailed to you, please email Jon Coney at coneyj@trimet.org and include your name and mailing address. Please note, the passes will be mailed the week of July 15th, so please consider getting a pass at one of the locations listed above to begin riding before then.
