40-Tacoma/Swan Island provides daily service between Swan Island, Rose Quarter, Portland City Center, South Portland, Sellwood, and SE Tacoma/Johnson Creek Park & Ride, along Basin, Cutter Circle, Going, Greeley, Interstate, 5th/6th, Macadam and Tacoma.

No service to the southbound stop at S Macadam & Julia (Stop ID 3615) due to long-term construction.
Effective Dec. 31, 2025 All rides on TriMet buses, MAX and Portland Streetcar will be free after 8:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. MAX Blue, Green, Orange and Yellow lines will also provide extended late-night service, running approximately every 30 minutes until about 3:00 a.m. And on New Year's Day, buses, MAX and Portland Streetcar will all run on Sunday schedules. Bus lines that normally do not run on Sundays will not be in service. WES Commuter Rail will not be in service. TriMet Customer Service and the Customer Support Center at Pioneer Courthouse Square will be closed. More
